The dispute between popular vloggers - Gimper (Tomasz D.) and Ator (Krzysztof Woźniak) - began in 2015, when Gimper posted insulting content about Woźniak on his channel.
The dispute found its finale in court, though for various reasons it had not been clear until now whether the accusation made by Ator (Krzysztof Woźniak) is actually justified from a legal standpoint. Gimper does not admit to committing the act he is accused of, questioning whether the channel he made available on YouTube is actually his. Demonstrating that, from a legal standpoint, it is YouTube that owns the insulting content he posted is the main line of defense.
"We remain hopeful, however," says attorney Diana Kazimierska, legal counsel for Krzysztof Woźniak.
Birds of a feather?
On April 12 of this year, the trial of YouTuber Tomasz D., known online as Gimper, was set to begin before the District Court for Warsaw-Mokotów. He was accused of harassing vlogger Krzysztof Woźniak (known as Ator). The case was postponed due to a motion by Tomasz D., who asked that it be returned to the preparatory proceedings in order to supplement the evidentiary materials.
On April 24 of this year, the court is to decide whether the case files should be referred to the Warsaw-Mokotów Prosecutor's Office.
Hatred in episodes
The famous dispute between the vloggers was covered by, among others, Mira Suchodolska in the article "Hejt i hajs" (Hate and Cash) of November 6, 2015 in "Dziennik Gazeta Prawna," and in May of last year the TVN station broadcast in "Superwizjer" Endy Gęsina-Torres's report "Hejt, który niszczy życie" (The Hate That Destroys Life). Journalists pointed out that, among others, Gimper has no inhibitions about insulting others.
Even before the report aired on TVN, the partner network Epic Makers (owned by Agora) ended its cooperation with Gimper.
