Hello, we present some of the most inspiring and somewhat emotional UK campaigns from 2021. We hope that over a coffee or during a break from replying to emails, they can inspire you at least a little or even annoy you like the Nike campaign.

McDonalds - There's Nothing Quite Like a McDelivery

The McDonald's campaign "There's Nothing Quite Like a McDelivery" includes two films - "Hungry Eyes" and "My House, My Rules." The first shows the unique craving for McDonald's food set to the iconic 1980s track "Hungry Eyes" by Eric Carmen. The ad highlights the expressive nature of people's eyes after ordering McDelivery and brings to life the anticipation, excitement, envy and pleasure that go hand in hand with placing an order. The second ad references our habits at home and how we behave when no one is watching us.

In its campaign, McDonald's reminds viewers that their favourite food can be ordered directly to their door via the My McDonald's app, as well as through Uber Eats and Just Eat.

Mastercard - Wildlife Impact Gift Card Program

The campaign created by McCann uses the Mastercard card expiry date as a tool to show users the species that could potentially go extinct by the time the card expires, such as the black-and-white ruffed lemur, the African forest elephant or the Sunda pangolin.

To engage its customers with the fact that a million animal and plant species are currently threatened with extinction, Mastercard partnered with Conservation International to create the "The Wildlife Impact Card" program.

The campaign encourages card users to take action by enabling them to donate to habitat protection, while 1 USD from each card will be donated to Conservation International.

Spotify - Only You

Most Inspiring and Emotional Campaigns from England – Summary

The Spotify campaign led by global creative director Alex Bodman shows a lot of personalised data about the listener, e.g. playlists dedicated based on the songs they listen to, track rankings or information about what time of day you reach for your headphones. Through the popular Harry Styles song "Adore You," the ad shows how important every individual is to the company and how it cares about their tastes.

Nike - Toxic Football

The ad "Toxic Football," created by Wieden+Kennedy, is part of Nike's "Play now" advertising campaign, which encourages others to take up sport in a new way.

At the beginning of the spot, we hear an old, battered ball shouting and trying to tell the athletes that if they want to achieve something, they need to sort out a few things in their heads. This references outdated coaching methods. At one point, in order to stop the ball from spreading its toxic speech, Marcus Rashford MBE kicks it off the pitch. As a result, the footballer becomes an icon of social justice.

The ad was created to combat toxic masculinity in football.

Father's Day with Moonpig

The second Moonpig ad, created by the advertising agency Creature, aims to inspire everyone to reach out to the people they love, no matter the moment.

In the latest instalment, the ad follows a man choosing the perfect card for his dad, while the new mascot changes outfits three times during that time.

Moonpig's return in the form of an animated mascot turned out to be a huge success in bringing the brand's purpose to life. The company, which sells cards, creates moments that matter every day. The ad moved customers so much that they began demanding the creation of plush toys with the mascot.
