At the beginning of April, a mural measuring over 250 square metres appeared in central Warsaw to promote the legendary adidas Stan Smith shoe model. As part of a local campaign for the new edition of this iconic model, eobuwie.pl and adidas joined forces to create a project which, like the new Stan Smith, highlights the importance of caring for the environment. The launch of the new eco-friendly adidas Stan Smith shoes is accompanied by a campaign prepared by VMLY&R. The mural was produced by Good Looking Studio.
An eco-friendly mural in Warsaw
Photocatalytic paint was used to create the mural, which thanks to its properties neutralises harmful substances that Warsaw residents encounter on a daily basis.
How does the paint purify the air?
How does it work? Car exhaust fumes and other types of pollution (e.g. in the form of nitrogen oxides) settle on the surface of the mural. Then, under the influence of sunlight, they are neutralised – they break down into environmentally harmless nitrogen compounds, water and a small amount of CO2. And when the process is complete, with the next rainfall the coating is self-cleaned and ready to start all over again.

Since 1973, adidas Stan Smith shoes had remained unchanged and became an icon. However, the time came when they had to change. And it is not about their appearance or comfort – it is about how they were made. The time has come for these classic shoes to become more environmentally friendly. To become truly timeless. Without abandoning the well-known design, a new version of the Stan Smith sneakers was created with a Primegreen upper made from recycled materials, defining what shoes that are friendly to our planet are.
