Sanofi has unveiled a new, bold and unified corporate brand. It is the result of the transformation initiated in December 2019.
Over the past 50 years, Sanofi has become a global leader in the biopharmaceutical market, with a rich heritage of scientific discoveries aimed at improving patients' quality of life. Originating from various companies, Sanofi today is a combination of many cultures, identities and brands. The new, unified corporate image is deeply rooted in this heritage and, for the first time, brings its diverse history together into one shared identity. It is a symbol of the journey so far and a manifestation of an ambitious strategy for the future.
"At the threshold of our company's half-century of existence, we have undertaken the most important transformation and modernisation in our history," says Paul Hudson, CEO of Sanofi. "In 2019, we launched our 'Play to Win' strategy, which focuses on leveraging our innovation platform to discover and produce the newest and best-in-class medicines and vaccines. Our new brand is a natural and important step forward on this journey and reflects the coherent way the company works to fulfil our shared ambition to change the face of medicine." - Paul Hudson, CEO of Sanofi
One Sanofi - one identity
The existing names of the business units within the company, namely Sanofi Pasteur and Sanofi Genzyme, dedicated respectively to vaccines and highly specialised medicines, as well as all other brands acquired by the company, will from now on operate under one consistent name: Sanofi.
Thinking, acting and operating as a single entity, within a new shared purpose and identity, thanks to a more strategic use of the company's resources as a whole, will allow Sanofi to respond even better to patients' needs by delivering breakthrough therapies.
A logo inspired by scientific discoveries
The new logo reflects Sanofi's new purpose and ambition and is inspired by a simple, movement-oriented code characteristic of the technology sector. Two purple dots symbolise the scientific journey between the starting point – curiosity and the readiness to question the status quo and ask "what if?" – and the finish line – that is, the moment of discovering innovative therapeutic solutions that affect human life.
"With our new brand, we give our employees, partners, patients and healthcare professionals a clear and in-depth understanding of who we are and what our purpose is," says Josep Catllà, Head of Corporate Affairs, Sanofi. "Our attitude is authentic — but also unconventional. We believe that the new, distinctive brand and logo perfectly capture Sanofi's new purpose: to change the world for the better by harnessing the power of science." - Josep Catllà, Head of Corporate Affairs, Sanofi
