Backdoor

A hidden entry point into a system left behind after a breach. Allows attackers to return even after passwords are changed and visible traces removed — because it bypasses normal login procedures.

Why it matters

Changing passwords does not close a backdoor. As long as the file remains on the server, attackers can return whenever they want — which is why simply 'cleaning spam' never truly resolves the issue.

What's missing without it

Without finding and removing the backdoor, the incident will repeat within days: the account recreated, content reuploaded, this time more cautiously.

When it is used

In every incident: after securing accounts, we search for files dated at the time of the breach and directories not present in the official plugin repository.

How we use it

Typical structure: a directory impersonating a plugin, containing files such as `auto_batch_backdoor.php`, `login_admin.php`, `scan.php`, and a custom `.htaccess` file that forces PHP execution even in locations where the server would normally block it.
