Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok and other social media platforms should be taken into account when creating today's ecommerce strategies.

In its latest study "Driving Rapid Business Growth With Shops", VMLY&R Commerce points out what is behind the rapid growth of shopping in social media and lists the opportunities that social commerce offers brands.

Social shops are developing dynamically. Two phenomena are behind this. The first is the pandemic, which showed that the Internet has become the main channel through which consumers make purchases (an increase of 46%). The second is a 9% increase in the number of social media users. Today, leading social platforms offer a range of shopping solutions that enable their users to shop directly from within the app.

In the post-pandemic landscape, the online shopping space is expanding like rising dough. Social media have become a space where brands not only encourage consumers to interact, but also, thanks to technological development, can carry out the entire purchasing process – from acquiring the customer and building awareness, through sustaining interest, to finalising the purchase and further building consumer loyalty – within a single communication-and-sales ecosystem. There is no longer a risk of losing the consumer's attention between the inspiration phase and the purchase. - Rafał Wasyluk, head of EMEA Commerce Centre of Excellence at VMLY&R Poland

Social commerce is predicted to grow to $3.37 trillion worldwide over the next eight years.

Manufacturers of all kinds of goods already sell not only on marketplaces or in retail chains, or by developing their own brand.com sites with sales functions. They are vigorously entering the Direct To Consumer model and expanding their Rapid Delivery / QSR offering. The shopping space is becoming more complicated, and each channel plays its own role. The challenges of managing a brand and products in an omnichannel environment are growing, and VMLY&R knows best how to "fit" social commerce into the ecommerce spectrum. We invite you to read our latest study, "Driving Rapid Business Growth With Shops", which will help you build your perspective on the new opportunities arising from the growing role of social platforms. - Rafał Wasyluk, head of EMEA Commerce Centre of Excellence at VMLY&R Poland
