Trends in public relations in times of information hyperinflation

We are experiencing another communication revolution. The rapid development of new technologies and the growing influence of online creators raise numerous questions about the future of the public relations industry in the context of frequent image crises or information hyperinflation. These most current topics will be discussed by experts during this year's PR Congress, which will take place on September 19-20 in Rzeszów.

When on November 30, 2022, the American company OpenAI launched the now-famous ChatGPT, probably few people realized how much this technology would change our reality. The algorithm, which users initially used only to conduct naturally sounding conversations, marked a new stage in the development of artificial intelligence.

– Changes have affected many aspects of our reality. On the one hand, we received a tool that allows us to increase our productivity; on the other, we faced the challenge of reorganizing our work. Along with many opportunities come threats as well – says Konrad Fijołek, Mayor of the City of Rzeszów. – That is precisely why today we especially need a substantive discussion among experts about the impact of technology on our lives. It is good that such a discussion will take place in September, right here in Rzeszów, which is, after all, the capital of innovation. We need both modern solutions and responsible reflection on their consequences – he adds.

Social challenges in the era of AI

The issue of artificial intelligence is worth looking at more broadly, not only in a professional context. AI technology affects our functioning on a much deeper level. These are not only questions of efficiency, metrics, or innovation, but also cultural and social consequences.

That is why the program of the 24th PR Congress includes the lecture “Information avalanches as a factor in the psychosocial crisis of employees,” to be delivered by Dr. hab. Mariusz Jędrzejko from Piotrków Academy, the presentation “The human being as an individuality. The internal relations of the future in a company in times of artificial intelligence” by Monika Bednarek – former president of Eurozet, associated with the Polish and European media market for 25 years – and the presentation “The undervalued responsibility and ethos of communication – children's rights in the era of the information society” by Dr. Konrad Ciesiołkiewicz from the Orange Foundation. These are extremely current topics in the era of technology and information noise.

Article concepts

AI — Artificial Intelligence / artificial intelligence. A set of methods and systems performing tasks usually requiring human reasoning, learning, perception, or content generation. In HEXX AI CMS, it includes language models, document analysis, and automation.

Why it matters: It takes over repetitive tasks — transcriptions, descriptions, translations, selection — and shortens the path from idea to publication. In an editorial office, it means more time for work a machine cannot do: evaluation, contacts, decisions.

When it is used: For generating and editing content, document analysis, transcription, translation, and automating the flow of materials.

What omission risks: Without AI, the team manually performs mass work (photo descriptions, language versions, summaries), while competitors publish faster and more cheaply.
