From August 26 to September 10, the IKEA Festival will take place in IKEA stores and online. In nine cities around the world, over nine days, the brand will explore ten themes aimed at celebrating creativity and ingenuity in home life.
In the "Life at Home" report prepared by IKEA in 2021, 26% of people worldwide said that pursuing hobbies or personal projects is important for maintaining well-being, and 32% of respondents want to spend more time pursuing their passions. Interestingly and worth highlighting, nearly half of Poles (47%) who made significant efforts to reorganize their homes during the pandemic now have a more positive opinion of them. During the two-week IKEA Festival, people from around the world will be able to learn from creators and innovators to gain courage and motivation to take active action in their homes. Because just a small step is enough to go from dreams to actions!
We successfully draw from world cuisine, diversifying our diet and introducing new flavors — so why not do the same for our homes? The IKEA Festival is a good start. Over nine days, 9 IKEA stores in global metropolises will transform into spaces full of inspiration. Special in-store events, live shopping, and content created by selected personalities on social media will focus on ten themes: food, sports, games, music and dance, nature, fashion and beauty, collecting, art and crafts, focus and wellness, and pets. A new online platform will also be available, where viewers can watch the festival live from anywhere in the world. Through live broadcasts and themes close to home life, IKEA wants to motivate people to share their passions and ideas, inspiring others to pursue them.
“We have been delighted to watch the IKEA Festival evolve. This time we are focusing on people who want to spend more time pursuing their passions and hobbies. We want to show the impact that a bit of creativity can have on arranging your own space,” says Marcus Engman, Chief Creative Officer at Ingka Group.
For IKEA, this is a festival of many firsts, including the first global TikTok campaign. With this new edition of its event, IKEA is collaborating with young and promising creators who will turn inspiration from the event into reality, demonstrating the scale of diversity of products available at IKEA and how the brand's solutions can be tried out at home.
The hosts of this year's festival will be Texas, Vienna, Shanghai, New York, Sydney, Stockholm, Tokyo, Madrid, Paris and… the comfort of your own home!
The IKEA Festival will take place not only in nine "host" cities, but also in many other IKEA stores around the world. Attractions will include speed dating with interior design specialists, food trucks serving IKEA's latest offerings, and in-store events.
In Poland, special offers are planned for IKEA Family club members. More information about activities in individual stores at: IKEA.pl.
