Digital Organisation Open to Change: HR Trends for 2025 Through the Eyes of a VeloBank Expert
According to McKinsey data1, artificial intelligence is capable of automating up to 70% of repetitive tasks in the financial sector and customer service. HR will also increasingly turn to AI. However, people will remain key – employee wellbeing and care for the diverse groups that make up an organisation. Katarzyna Mikulska, Managing Director of the Human Resources Area at VeloBank, emphasises that the issue of wise leadership will remain significant in 2025. The current year is a time for leaders open to constant change.
- The past year was dynamic for VeloBank. Business successes were accompanied by an agile, inclusive HR policy, thanks to which we developed competent, creative teams focused on achieving goals. The year 2025, which is just beginning, not only in the financial sector, will favour the growing importance of employee wellbeing, increased attention to inclusion, stronger engagement of technology, and will pose new challenges for management. The rapidly changing competitive environment, legal regulations and internal changes in organisations will mean that managers will have to cope with constant change as a driving force for development – points out Katarzyna Mikulska, Managing Director of the Human Resources Department at VeloBank.
Wellbeing as the foundation of the organisation
Growing importance of wellbeing
According to the Wellhub report2, almost all (99%) HR leaders indicate that wellbeing programmes translate into increased employee productivity. In the coming year, company activities that care for the physical and mental health of employees will gain in importance. The development and increased availability of wellbeing programmes, e.g. related to stress reduction or mindfulness, is expected.
Flexibility of work organisation and activities aimed at ensuring work-life balance will continue to be of great importance to employees and candidates.
Open teams will generate innovation
Diversity and inclusion at the centre
The McKinsey report "Diversity Matters Even More"3 speaks of a strong correlation between diversity in key managerial positions in companies and many indicators of impact on employees, community and environment. These regularities occur in all sectors of the economy. Diverse teams generate innovations more easily, make decisions more efficiently, and their work fosters better financial results.
In 2025, companies will devote greater attention to counteracting bias and supporting integration. The importance of measuring and reporting DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) indicators will increase.
Integration of new technologies
AI in recruitment and management
Artificial intelligence will support 7 out of 10 companies recruiting in 2025, according to Resume Builder data4. As many as 40% of organisations will implement AI-based chatbots to communicate with candidates during the recruitment process. Automation of HR processes will support employee evaluations and talent management.
It is important that the integration of new technologies in HR processes takes place transparently, building trust in how companies use them. In summer 2024, the European Commission published the AI Act in the official journal, i.e. a regulation governing many areas related to the ethical use of artificial intelligence also in business.
Wise leadership in a diverse environment
The dynamic, constantly evolving environment in which companies operate today requires the development of new competencies among management. The year 2025 will increase the importance of "human leadership", leadership based on building relationships, supporting teams and caring for the personalised development of individual employees. Management representatives will, on an unprecedented scale, have to combine analytical skills with empathy and openness to building inclusive teams and companies.
