On 1 July 2017, Sebastian Ebel, until then Chairman of the Management Board of TUI Germany for Tourism and Chief Commercial Officer, handed over his position to Marek Andryszak. The Supervisory Board of TUI Germany GmbH approved the Pole's promotion at the meeting preceding the decision. On the Management Board, Sebastian Ebel was responsible for hotels and for booking locations for customers of the Western and Central European branches - from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. Andryszak also helped TUI Germany rebuild the German subsidiary in a difficult competitive environment and return to a growth path. The course chosen by the Pole bore the expected fruit, and Marek Andryszak built a team of experienced corporate managers from within the company, which is reporting successes under him as head of TUI in Poland and at the subsidiary L'Tur in Baden-Baden. Sebastian Ebel took over the leadership of Germany's leading travel agency in 2015. Under his leadership, TUI Germany's market share increased significantly. "These last two years mean a lot to me. My colleagues are people full of passion for tourism and for people, who provide services to our guests every day at the highest level. We have made significant progress as a team in many areas, which is reflected in particular in our current state of economic development. This is a good time to hand over responsibility to new hands. I look forward to continuing to work with Marek Andryszak and Stefan Baumert," said Sebastian Ebel as he stepped down from his position. The Supervisory Board thanked him for his success and commitment. "We know very well what Sebastian Ebel has done for TUI Germany. I thank Sebastian Ebel on behalf of the entire Supervisory Board. I am particularly pleased that we can fill two leading positions from within the company. This shows that TUI is an attractive employer that attaches great importance to developing its own managers. Marek Andryszak and Stefan Baumert are a good team for today. I am certain that they will ensure the success of implementing TUI Germany's development strategy with great energy and experience. We wish them even greater success," said Horst Baier, Chairman of TUI Germany. Marek Andryszak has served as Chief Operating Officer of TUI Deutschland GmbH since 1 January 2017 and, since 1 April, has also held the role of Chief Commercial Officer. Since June 2016, he has also been CEO of L'Tur Tourismus AG. Before taking over the leadership at L'Tur, Marek Andryszak served as president of TUI Poland Sp. z o.o. from April 2009 to May 2016. He is an industrial engineer by training - he began his career at TUI as an intern in the International Management program in 2000.
