Jerzy Hołub, Mastercard's marketing director in Poland, will take over responsibility for marketing activities in two additional markets — the Czech Republic and Slovakia — at the beginning of January 2023. He will be responsible there for the strategy and execution of activities promoting the brand as well as Mastercard's solutions and products.
Jerzy Hołub's New Regional Responsibilities
Jerzy Hołub joined Mastercard in 2019. He is responsible for the strategy and execution of marketing activities, managing the company's sponsorship projects in Poland, such as Mastercard OFF CAMERA, as well as marketing cooperation with the company's business partners.
Data for Good Projects and Mastercard Platforms
His commitment was fundamental to the development of the award-winning music platform, Mastercard Music. Thanks to this project, the brand was successfully introduced into the area of audio branding in Poland. During the COVID pandemic and after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, two "data for good" projects were carried out under Jerzy's wing: KiedyDoSklepu.pl and GdzieZamieszkać.com, which — based on data and technology — respond responsibly and effectively to current social challenges. Jerzy also played a significant role in the development and building of the image of the loyalty platform Mastercard Bezcenne Chwile. Over the past two years, together with his team, he has won many local and international industry awards, including Effie, Webby, Merit, One Show, and Golden Drum.
20 Years of Experience and the Road to Mastercard
Jerzy has 20 years of marketing experience, which he owes to working for leading brands such as Orange, T-Mobile, LUXMED, and PZU. He joined the Mastercard team directly from Orange, where he was responsible for B2B commercial marketing and marketing cooperation with Google, Samsung, and Cisco.
Jerzy Hołub holds a doctorate in sociology from the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Czech Academy of Sciences, and is also a graduate of the University of Warsaw. Jerzy's passions are classic Russian literature and boxing.
Concepts from the Article
Mastercard Marketing Director Expands His Responsibilities to New Markets
B2B — Business-to-Business. A business model in which a company sells products or services to other organizations. The decision-making process usually involves more people, a longer sales cycle, proposals, and expert content.
Why it matters: It forces different communication: the decision is made by a committee, the cycle lasts for months, and the content must convince an expert, not a consumer. Effective B2B marketing is knowledge and trust, not impulse.
When it is used: When selling to companies: expert content, long cycles, proposals, business relationships.
What happens if it is omitted: Treating a business customer like an end consumer results in a campaign that shines but never makes it through the purchasing department.
