One of the most important positions at Politan is being vacated by Grzegorz Barszcz after more than a decade. The company's long-serving marketing director, now a vice-president, is focusing on new responsibilities. The role of marketing director has been taken over by Tarik Hassan.

Grzegorz Barszcz has been with Politan for more than 13 years. He began as sales director and subsequently served as marketing director and HR director, creating and successfully implementing modern development strategies for the company and the brands in its portfolio. In 2014 he was appointed to the company's management board, and since January 2017 he has served as vice-president of the board, responsible among other things for implementing the company's strategy, developing human resources and organisational structure, and managing the Trade and Human Resources Department.

After thirteen years, Grzegorz Barszcz's responsibilities have been taken over by Tarik Hassan – an experienced manager and marketer who has worked in many different sectors of the economy, including the automotive industry and consumer electronics. He has managed marketing departments for companies on a global scale in the Central and Eastern European region. His main tasks at Politan include developing the brand portfolio based on the adopted strategies, as well as intensively expanding the sales channel. Tarik Hassan says that in his position he will focus on strategic planning, maintaining a consistent marketing policy for the brands in the offer, and high product quality based on consumer insights and market research.

Politan is a Polish manufacturer of household goods and household chemicals. The company's business strategy is based on two pillars: sales of branded products aimed at consumers, and the production of solutions for the B2B sector in the areas of packaging and creating individual technologies. The company's development is closely linked to innovation, which is reflected among other things in the business solutions it offers and in the creation of patented products. Politan's portfolio includes three brands. The Gosia brand offers products for baking, storage and cleaning, including plastic bags, aluminium foil, mops, cloths, etc. The Amigo brand is the economy equivalent of Gosia. There is also the Helios brand, which offers household chemicals and shoe care products.

B2B — Business-to-Business / company to company. A business model in which a company sells products or services to other organisations. The decision-making process usually involves more people, a longer sales cycle, tendering and expert content.

Why it matters: It forces a different kind of communication: the decision is made by a committee, the cycle lasts for months, and the content must convince an expert, not a consumer. Effective B2B marketing is knowledge and trust, not impulse.

When it is used: When selling to companies: expert content, long cycles, tendering, business relationships. It is used in two areas: B2B marketing and as a business model (company-to-company sales).

What happens if it is ignored: Treating a business client like a consumer results in a campaign that shines but never makes it through the purchasing department.
