Between June 1 and August 30 of this year, 857,979 mentions about 11 summer music festivals appeared in the media (television, press, internet, radio) – according to an analysis by Press-Service Monitoring Mediów prepared for "Presserwis".
The most mentions concerned Przystanek Woodstock, which took place on August 3-5 of this year in Kostrzyn nad Odrą – 593,200 items. For comparison, in 2016, between June 1 and August 22, it was 24,400. The media visibility of this festival this year was influenced by, among other things, a statement by Interior Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, who raised doubts about the safety of the event, as well as a statement by Jerzy Owsiak, president of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity foundation, addressed to Law and Justice (PiS) MP Krystyna Pawłowicz, telling her to try sex.
Summer music festivals were most eagerly discussed on social media – 811,000 items. There were 42,400 items on internet services, 2,700 on radio and television, and 2,400 in the press.
The mentions came most often from Facebook (609,000), Instagram (101,000), Twitter (44,000), YouTube (29,000), and Wykop (9,500).
