Media, technology and content: these three pillars form the basis of the new company's positioning in the media agency market. Wavemaker is being created from the merger of WPP-owned brands MEC and Maxus. The goal of the merger is to maximize their potential in areas key to advertisers.

As Tim Castree, global CEO of MEC and Wavemaker, says: "Our goal is to deliver to marketers solutions that support the transformation and growth of their business, among other things thanks to a deep understanding of the purchase path and the ability to integrate the data flowing from it with GroupM's technological solutions. This goal is reflected in the creation, specialization and positioning of Wavemaker."

Kelly Clark, global CEO of GroupM, adds: "Wavemaker is a new global brand with a strong and unique proposition for clients. Tim and his team can count on full support from GroupM in its development."
