After this year's New York Fashion Week, the institute presented its forecasts for fall and winter 2018.

Fashion Color Trend Report is a guide to the most important color trends for a given season. On the occasion of New York Fashion Week, Pantone prepared a report on the colors that, according to experts' predictions, will be used by fashion designers in collections for the new season. In the lineup for the fall/winter season, we can see a combination of classicism with exceptional expression. A bold palette of shades that express the need for individuality, ingenuity and creativity. The color trends presented in this year's report include 15 top colors. 10 of them are colors that will be fashionable in the fall/winter 2018 season, and the remaining 5 are basic, classic shades.
Color of the year 2018
Ultra Violet - Pantone 18 – 3838, which according to the Pantone Institute was recognized as the color of the year 2018, will dominate the creative industry for another year. The mysterious violet is meant to be associated with visionary thinking and originality. The color refers to the boundlessness of the cosmos, heralding what awaits us in the future and inspiring the exploration of the digitalized world. We can expect that Ultra Violet will appear in fashion, design, art and graphics. It may also inspire many artists and interior designers.

Color palettes for fall/winter
The first palette is clearly dominated by stronger colors. Exceptional colors such as (from the left) Pantone 19-1536 Read Pear Limelight and Pantone 16-1255 Russet Orange are incredibly deep, expressive shades emphasizing the modern, autumn color palette fashionable in the 2018 season.
The second palette, in turn, presents basic, subdued shades that will work for any time of year.
