First-ever decline in users
From the beginning of March to the end of June, Snapchat recorded 188 million active users. On the one hand, this is a satisfying result, since compared with the same period a year earlier the number of users rose by 8%; on the other hand, the current result reflects a 2% decline compared with the first quarter of this year.
This is the first quarterly decline in the number of active users that Snapchat has recorded in its seven-year presence on the market!. Even though Wall Street analysts had forecast weaker results, the service's revenue rose by 44% year on year, to the level of 262.3 million dollars! At the same time, losses decreased by 20% - to 353 million dollars.
