Instagram has launched a new feature called Live Rooms, which allows live broadcasts with up to four people simultaneously.
Live Rooms offers huge potential for creatively using live broadcasts. A talk show, jam session, or cooking lesson with friends? From now on, creators can engage their community in new, creative ways. As with previous live broadcasts, Live Rooms allows organizing fundraisers for non-profit organizations.

How does Live Rooms work on Instagram?
As stated in the press release, since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, the platform's creators have been working to develop solutions that would enable people to easily connect and reach communities in creative ways. The Live Rooms feature gives app users even more opportunities to activate their communities and, consequently, to earn money. More interactive tools are also planned, such as moderator controls and audio features, which will be available in the coming months.
How does it work?
To open a Live Room:
- swipe left and select the live broadcast option
- add a title and invite 3 other users
- you can also start a live broadcast with 2 users and add another during the session
Live Rooms will be available to all Instagram users.
