Facebook is testing new solutions meant to help group administrators in the service introduce fees for access to closed communities.
According to Facebook, the option of paid access to closed groups is intended to make group founders pay greater attention to the quality of their posts.
As Facebook claims - paid access to groups has already existed for quite some time, but until now it has not been regulated.
Administrators are increasingly creating subgroups with paid access. However, this type of activity causes many problems related to payment handling, which as a result leads to lower content quality in a given group.
How is the new system supposed to work?
Facebook itself is extending a helping hand to group administrators, having decided to test a set of tools that make it possible to collect subscription fees and manage the funds raised. Users can make payments through the Facebook mobile app.
As the service explains, people creating groups have greater opportunities to expand and raise the quality level of their posts.
Key assessment by administrators
Facebook notes, however, that the system currently being tested is similar to the one from March 2017, which was created with video creators in mind. It allowed them to collect payments from viewers. According to the announcements, whether the test version is accepted depends primarily on the assessments of group administrators.
