Everyone loves top 10 lists, entire websites dedicated to compiling this kind of content have sprung up, and everyone is curious about what is popular. Netflix has decided to introduce a feature for checking the popularity of the 10 most-watched titles.

A new row on Netflix

A new row will appear on the service, alongside trending and picked for you, where we will be able to check the 10 most popular titles in Poland. This applies to both films and series. However, we will not find the lists on the home page; we have to open the films and series tabs separately.

The red top10 badge

Series and films that appear on one of the lists are marked with a red “top10” badge. Thanks to this, popular films are easier to spot.

We are constantly looking for ways to improve Netflix. That is why for the past six months we have been experimenting with top 10 lists in Mexico and the United Kingdom. Users in both countries found them useful, so we are now rolling them out to a wider audience. When you watch a great film or TV show, you share it with family and friends or talk about it at work so others can enjoy it too. We hope these top 10 lists will help create more of those shared moments, and also help us all find something to watch faster and more easily. - Cameron Johnson, Product Innovation

Summary

Netflix is introducing a new feature in Poland that presents the 10 most popular films and series. The lists will be available in separate tabs, and featured titles are marked with a red “top10” badge. The feature was created after six months of testing in Mexico and the United Kingdom, where it was well received by users.

As Cameron Johnson from the Product Innovation team explains, the lists are meant to make it easier to discover content and encourage watching together. This is another step by the platform toward personalization, although the ranking is shared by all users in the country.
